Unfortunately Speed gives very little space for kart racing in their programing. You can tell how sad it is by this forum, as there is even no specific place in this forum for kart racing (which is, undeniably, the form of motorsport that has the greatest number of participants in the USA & the world).

Yet there is a spot for "Sim racing", which is not motorsports at all... rolleyes

Thats some amazing video.
Just the kind of stuff that is missing on SpeedTV programming.

I see he has a big brake pedal in the middle, so what is the left pedal for?
(I thought the cluch for shifter karts was hand operated.)

It either requires a manual clutch or that's the soft brake like propane powered forklifts have.

Would love to see more kart racing SPEED, show us some wet weather racing. Why not some European series too?

250cc Superkarts can run their clutch on a foot pedal, so its clutch left, brake center, and throttle on the right. Their chassis design has more space to accomodate three pedals. Some guys do run their clutch on the steering column.

125cc shifterkarts only have brake and throttle pedals and require the clutch to be on a handle mounted on the steering column.

Both methods take the place of the motorcycle clutch lever, same cable, just different lever. Guess that goes for the throttle too.

As to showing events, it comes down to economics like usual. Costs are too high for us small fish. Oh well, I'll spend less on my race entry fee than spectator tickets. Had more fun racing an exhibition event in front of the crowds at Barber Motorsports Park on my 125cc shifter than sitting on the hillside watching the cars. Not knocking them, just more fun to do than watch. Do give racing coverage credit, you can learn alot by watching racing, then practice what you see on a kart.

^ Your right man. Back then, my brother and I would race each other in our dirt cheap karts.

We used to steal cones from construction sites and create our own tracks on parking lots. Big Business lots were usually empty on the weekends.

We were always pumped up after watching a good circuit course race on [img:e218548027]http://trans-video.net/images/speedvisionlogo.gif[/img:e218548027] .:D
