RK Motors, LLC, has opened the doors to its new 40,000-square-foot, cutting-edge restoration and service shop in Mooresville, N.C. Called the RKM Performance Center, the facility is a full-service restoration, build and maintenance facility for all types of classic and collectible vehicles, located at 161 Knob Hill Road in Mooresville.

“Demand for collector-car services has grown over the last several years, prompting the need for this expansion,” said Joseph Carroll, RK Motors president and CEO. “We’ve been restoring premium vehicles in Mentor, Ohio, for years. Now, we have the resources and tools to offer customers a one-stop shop for all their collector-car needs. The award-winning restoration facility will be closer to our headquarters where our clients can buy, sell, build and renew their dream cars.”

The RKM Performance Center features a fabrication shop, two paint booths, 10 lift bays, a parts department and upholstery shop. The classic-car care facility offers complete mechanical maintenance, frame-off restorations, interior design and installation, custom fabrication, performance upgrades and other services.

As part of the new facility, the experts can complete body, rust and paint repairs, as well as panel replacements. Paint jobs are executed in high-efficiency heating, dust and dirt-free booths. At the fabrication shop, enthusiasts can order chassis upgrades, along with sheet-metal repairs and customizations, while the interior department can fit convertible tops and install contemporary audio and video equipment.

The RKM Performance Center will also act as an inspection and service center for all vehicles that are for sale at RK Motors Charlotte to ensure the vehicle measures up to the dealership’s high standards. When the vehicle is sold through RK Motors Charlotte, the new owner can also select a Test & Tune service or a comprehensive certification completed by the RKM Performance Center prior to being delivered.

“From complete frame-off restorations and body repairs to detailed paint jobs, fiberglass work and custom interior fabrication, the RKM Performance Center can complete any type of collector car service,” added Bill Park, RKM Performance Center vice president of service. “Our highly-trained staff comes with years of experience transforming vintage vehicles into stunning collection centerpieces. No vehicle rolls out of the shop without meeting our performance standards.”

As part of the company’s expansion, RK Motors has hired collector-car enthusiast and automotive leader Gerry Notara as the vice president of operations. Notara will be accountable for all sales, marketing and supply chain distribution for RK Motors Charlotte and the RKM Performance Center.

“The new performance facility will allow RK Motors to expand its already prominent status among car collectors at home and across the country,” Notara said. “The company is built on a passion for automobiles and a reputation for delivering the best service available in the industry. I’m excited to be a part of this expansion and help the company grow its presence in the collector car hobby.”

Prior to joining the RK Motors team, Notara worked for BMW of North America and was a member of the executive task force who helped successfully launch the Mini automotive brand and dealer network in North America for BMW AG.
