A rare 1960 Ferrari 250GT Cabriolet will be among the sports-car offerings presented by Russo and Steele’s ninth annual Sports & Muscle at the Marriott auction Aug. 13-25 in Monterey.

Part of the Monterey Peninsula’s weeklong festival of collector cars and culture, culminating in the Pebble Beach Concours, Russo and Steele’s auction will present an eclectic range of about 150 European sports cars and American muscle cars, hot rods and custom cars.

The Ferrari 250GT highlights this year’s auction, a piece of drivable Ferrari history with classic sports-car styling and front-engine V-12 power. Believed to have been imported by Vilem B. Haan of sports-car aftermarket fame, the Ferrari was extensively restored by Steve Tillack of Redondo Beach, CA., finished in a deep maroon over tan hides with a black cloth convertible top.

The car remains in show-quality condition, Russo and Steele says, powered by its original Colombo V-12 engine and sitting on a set of chrome Borrani wire wheels.

Some of the other special offerings from the Phoenix, AZ.-based auction house include a 1959 BMW 503 coupe, an all-original 1964 Shelby Cobra, a rare 1960 Facel Vega HK500 two-door coupe, a 1969 Chevy Camaro Trans Am race car, a 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Greenwood IMSA road-racing GT and a 1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda.
