Barrett-Jackson’s 42nd annual collector-car auction in Scottsdale this January will honor one of the world’s greatest automotive icons, Carroll Shelby, including the sale of a diverse collection of the Shelby automobiles that helped define the career of the late designer, racer and entrepreneurial legend.

The 14 Shelby Mustangs consigned for the 2013 Barrett-Jackson auction and offered at no reserve on Saturday, Jan. 19, range from a stellar 1965 GT350 previously owned by Ford to a 2012 GT500 50th Anniversary Super Snake.

“As a lifelong friend of Barrett-Jackson, Carroll Shelby was a regular on the Scottsdale auction block, making this a fitting tribute,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “These Shelbys represent much more than just an addition to someone’s collection. They are a piece of Carroll’s legacy.”

Among other Shelby cars being offered in Scottsdale to celebrate the life of Carroll Shelby is the rarest Shelby Mustang in existence, the legendary 1968 factory prototype known as “The Green Hornet,” which will be auctioned with reserve as part of the auction’s Salon Collection of top-drawer collector cars.

From creating the world-renowned Shelby Cobra and Shelby Mustang to shifting the emphasis of the entire automotive industry from power to a more high-performance approach, Shelby remains one of the most influential automotive figures of all time.

Collectors from across the globe are anticipating these 14 special Shelby Mustangs crossing the block at no reserve:
