For all you Fantasy Bid players, we are experiencing technical difficulties with our registration and bidding system and because of this we will have no additional fantasy bid cars crossing the block tonight. Our team is working around the clock to rectify the problem and we hope to have this fixed for tomorrow's show. Please check speed.com for updates. We apologize for any inconvenience.

ANOTHER GREAT CAUSE: Guy Fieri donated this custom 2013 Corvette 427 convertible, which becomes the highest seller of the night at $270,000. The winning bidder was none other than NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick. All 100 percent of the winning bid will go to Cooking with Kids, founded by Fieri in 2010. Cooking with Kids is dedicated to getting kids in the kitchen so they can learn to cook for themselves, their friends and their family.

HELPING HAND, PART 2: The Zac Brown Band donated this pair of custom Indian motorcycles to benefit Camp Southern Ground, “a state-of-the-art facility with programs to serve children 7 to 17 with both typical and special needs, while providing them with lodging and facilities to most effectively contribute to their development.” The two bikes sold for $200,000, with every penny going directly to the charity. Well done.

HELPING HAND: The first charity vehicle of the night, a 2012 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor sells for $200,000, with every penny going to benefit Arizona Special Olympics. Barrett-Jackson has raised nearly $50 million for charities in the company’s history. This was an awesome truck that sold for a great cause. There will be more charity vehicles to come tonight, and this was a wonderful way to get it all started.

How often do you see a Yugo at an auction? (Photo: Tom Jensen)
YUGO, GIRL: On Saturday at the 42nd annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event, you’ll see a whole host of cars that sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars and, in some cases, millions of dollars. Between now and then, though, there will be an eclectic selection of offerings in all price ranges, including this humble 1990 Yugo with just 351 original miles. It sells today for a hammer price of just $10,000.

Interestingly, the Yugo comes from the Bob Howard Collection, the same consignor who on Saturday will sell one of the auction’s bid dog cars, a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing that once belonged to Clark Gable.

HEAVY HITTERS ARRIVING: On the way to the SPEED Social Garage here at Barrett-Jackson, I ran into John Bickford, Jeff Gordon’s stepfather, and John’s wife, Carol. They were part of Rick Hendrick’s group that arrived today. The Bickfords were on their way to see Ray Evernham’s For-Ply, a custom NASCAR-style 1964 Plymouth that will be auctioned to support IGNITE, a Davidson, N.C.-based program that supports adults with high functioning autism or Asperger's syndrome.

Moments later, a 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass built by Banjo Matthews, owned by Junior Johnson and driven by Cale Yarborough to the second of his three consecutive NASCAR Sprint Cup championships, crossed the auction block. Surprisingly, it hammered at $20,000, a bargain price for a piece of NASCAR history.

OFF TO A GOOD START: Sales Wednesday at the 42nd annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event totaled $9.24 million, bringing the two-day total to $13.4 million, certainly a healthy start. Attendance has been more than 75,000. Both attendance and sales volume are up from last year, according to Barrett-Jackson officials. The top seller on Wednesday was the Rusty Wallace custom Mustang race car, which raised $200,000 for the NASCAR Foundation. Then came a custom 1968 Camaro at $110,000 with buyer’s premium, and a 1968 Shelby GT500 KR at $108,900. You can see videos of all three crossing the block in Wednesday’s live blog.

DAY 3: The temperatures are heating up in Scottsdale, Ariz., and so is the action at the 42nd annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event. SPEED’s live coverage of Day 3 from Barrett-Jackson begins at 7 p.m. ET today and runs until midnight. During those hours, we’ll also have live streaming on SPEED.com.

The big news? Hagerty Fantasy Bidding starts today, so be sure to register to play. This year’s sweepstakes prize is an amazing 800-horsepower custom 2013 Ford Shelby GT500. One lucky Hagerty Fantasy Bid player will be chosen at random to win this remarkable car, which is beautiful, fast and sinister. Did I mention it was fast?

As we did in the first two days, we’ll have photos, videos and text to keep you on top of everything that’s going on here. Enjoy the ride — today’s cars will be even better than those that have run already and there likely will be some big numbers posted tonight.
