SPEED™, the definitive network for motorsports and the automotive lifestyle, will roll out a host of interactive offerings to support the more than 39 hours of live coverage planned for the 2009 Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event and ‘no reserve’ auction, Jan. 13-17 from Westworld in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Returning for 2009 will be the popular Hagerty Fantasy Bid game, where viewers can compete against each other in guessing the gavel prices for selected collector cars as they finish crossing the auction block. In addition, for the first time from Scottsdale, SPEEDtv.com will be offering three unique camera angles surrounding all the action from in and around
the auction floor.

“The Hagerty Fantasy Bid game is entering its fourth season. It’s one of the best interactive and viewer participation promotions we have on SPEED and it draws a lot of people to the Website,” said Kevin Annison, SPEED VP of Digital & Interactive Media. “We continue to use the game as a platform to enhance our coverage of the auction and further engage and interact with our viewers online and on their mobile devices.”

Starting with the Jan.15 telecast, SPEEDtv.com and SPEED Mobile will kick off the interactive Hagerty Fantasy Bid. The game provides the audience an opportunity to win a roster of high-end prizing with each successive ‘fantasy bid’ vehicle, through daily points totals and an overall winner.

The grand prize will be an all-expense paid, three-day trip to New York City and a pass for two to the ‘World Class Driving Experience’ for the player earning the most points throughout the entire bidding period. Additional prizes will also be awarded, as the overall first runner up will receive a Blu-ray disc player and the overall third-place winner takes home a portable GPS navigation system.

Daily winners, who accrue the most points throughout the evening of Fantasy Bidding, will win one of four 32-inch, 720p flat-panel LCD high-definition televisions. Twenty-Nine players will receive per car prizes, a 32-gigabyte iPod Touch.
