Fox Cable Networks has entered into an agreement with Comcast - which has more HD television subscribers than any other distributor -- to make its general entertainment flagship FX and top motorsports network SPEED available to Comcast HD subscribers by the end of 2009.

With the launch on Comcast and other carriage agreements, FX HD will now exceed more than 10 million HD homes since its October debut; and SPEED will grow to more than 9 million HD homes since its own February premiere.

"We appreciate having as important an HD provider as Comcast endorse two of our most popular HD networks," said Mike Hopkins, president of affiliate sales and marketing for Fox Cable Networks. "FX and SPEED are helping to lead the way in America's transition to digital television and especially HD, and so we're pleased so many local systems are adding them to their HD line-ups."

With the new Comcast agreement, FX HD and SPEED HD are each carried by the nation's largest cable television HD provider; the nation's
largest satellite television HD provider, and the national's largest telephony HD video provider, among several others.

Fox Cable Networks (FCN), a unit of Fox Networks Group, a wholly owned division of News Corporation (NYSE: NWS), is responsible for programming much of America's most popular entertainment, sports and informative content via 33 owned-and-operated television networks, video on demand and other media platforms. Fox Cable Networks span FX, FX HD, National Geographic Channel, National Geographic Channel HD, Fox Reality Channel, Fox Movie Channel, Fuel TV, FSN and 16 regional cable sports networks, SPEED, SPEED HD, Big Ten Network, Big Ten Network HD, Fox Soccer Channel, Fox College Sports and Fox Sports en Espanol. One of the media industry's most diverse and influential groups, these services collectively reach more than 550 million television homes. FCN also includes Fox Sports Enterprises, which manages interests in sports franchises and leading statistical information provider STATS, LLC.
