Maserati has released details for its luxurious 2012 Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Sport, which will start from $146,300, making it the highest priced vehicle ever sold by Maserati in the United States.

For a complete photo gallery of the upcoming Maserati, see GranTurismo Convertible Sport.

The big convertible gets the same 444 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque from its 4.7-liter V8 engine as the GranTurismo MC and European GranTurismo MC Stradale, but the rest of the modifications come from the slightly tamer GranTurismo S.

These modifications include the quick-shifting ZF six-speed automatic transmission, sporty aerodynamics package and uprated Skyhook suspension system.

One highlight of the drivetrain package is Maserati’s Friction Reduction Program, which has made the GranTurismo Convertible Sport’s engine more reactive to driver inputs while reaching a six percent reduction in fuel consumption. The top speed comes at 177 mph.
