Following the release of the One-77 and V12 Zagato at previous special events, Aston Martin has now revealed the latest top-of-the-range model at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, one of Europe’s premier concours events that starts today and continues through Sunday at the historic estate on the shores of Lake Como in Italy.

The coupe, known internally as the Project AM 310, is believed to be the replacement of the DBS, which was first shown in 2007 at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Although once again based on the familiar VH chassis constructed from bonded aluminum, there are several significant changes to bring the design up to the latest emissions and safety standards. Employing the lessons learned when developing the One-77, much of that has been achieved by using lightweight materials for both the body and chassis components.

A familiar drivetrain will also be employed; the all-aluminum 6-liter V12 and a transaxle gearbox. We understand that the output has been raised from 510 horsepower in the DBS to 573 in the Project AM 310.
