Under the mask, this is the new 2008 European-market Honda Accord, known stateside as the next Acura TSX, caught here being tested in the U.S.
The new car will be sharper to look at and hopefully to drive, too. Although today's TSX is no slouch, there are rumors that Honda is working on a new Type-S version with the firm's Super-Handling All-Wheel-Drive system.
As today, standard TSXs will come with front-wheel drive and a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. A 2.2-liter diesel is an option in Europe. The power plants will be upgraded to meet the tough new European emissions laws. Transmissions will be a six-speed manual or five-speed auto.
The new sedan is expected to arrive to market in the summer of 2008.
