Gooding & Company, the official auction house of the Pebble Beach Concours dElegance, has added several noteworthy consignments for its annual Pebble Beach auction, to be held Aug. 16-17. Late additions include a 1957 Ferrari 500 TRC Spider, a 1966 Ford GT40 MK I and a 1965 Shelby GT350 R. Also added are the renowned Carl J. Schmitt Collection and the famous 1907 Thomas Flyer Model-36 60 HP Touring Blondie. These cars will join more than 130 other collectible cars at Gooding & Companys upcoming Pebble Beach auction.
One of the few Ferrari factory-certified TRCs in existence, the Spider competed five times in Sicily's Targa Florio. The first owner, wealthy businessman and skilled driver Bernado Cammarata, achieved impressive results while racing the Ferrari in the Targa Florio and the Monte Pellegrino Hillclimb in Palermo.
Also on offer is a 1966 Ford GT40 MK I , one of only 31 examples built as a road-going car, and one of only a handful of GT40s that retains all
Raced by Tommy Hamilton and the Brown Brothers throughout Canada and the Pacific Northwest, this car captured over 40 podium finishes and five separate championships. The Shelby is restored to its original specifications, and like the GT40 possesses great provenance with an unbroken history from new.
This summer we have added sensational consignments to our Pebble Beach auction lineup and this months event should prove to be record-breaking, stated David Gooding, founder and president of Gooding & Company. This is truly the finest grouping of cars I have ever had the pleasure of offering.
