MICHAEL WALTRIP RACING GRANTS SPEED ALL-ACCESS DURING CHASE FOR THE NASCAR SPRINT CUP

CHASE DRIVERS BOWYER, TRUEX TO HEADLINE SEGMENTS FOR
NASCAR RACE HUB & NASCAR RACEDAY

Michael Waltrip Racing has granted SPEED unprecedented access to its organization during the pressure-packed Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. MWR Chase competitors Martin Truex Jr., and Clint Bowyer, their crews, and all the people “back in the shop” will be the focus of this 10-week programming initiative, with segments to appear on NASCAR Race Hub and NASCAR RaceDay.

“SPEED cameras will be in the shop, at the track, in the meetings, in the pits and anywhere the story takes us,” said SPEED President Scott Ackerson. “It’s a unique opportunity to give the sports world’s most passionate fans total access to the raw emotion and teamwork as MWR chases its first championship.”

Taping for the segments begins this weekend at Richmond, with Truex Jr., and his NAPA Know How No. 56 Toyota in fifth place and Bowyer’s 5-Hour Energy No. 15 in eighth. The first “all-access” segment airs Sept. 16 during NASCAR RaceDay from Chicagoland Speedway (11 a.m. ET). NASCAR Race Hub airs nightly (Mon.-Thurs.) at 6 p.m. ET.

“This is a great way for fans to get closer to MWR during the most exciting time in our company’s history,” said Michael Waltrip, MWR founder and co-owner. “We have a saying at the shop: team work made the dream work. Now fans can join us in making our dream work. This is going to be the best Chase ever. Nobody knows who’s going to win. We know we have as good a shot as anyone. This should be a lot of fun.”

Michael Waltrip Racing includes drivers Truex Jr., Bowyer, Mark Martin, Brian Vickers and Waltrip. For more information on the team, please visit http://www.michaelwaltripracing.com/.
