CONCEPT: Mazda Kazamai SUV

SUVs are still booming in Russia, where gas prices remain low... (Mazda image) ยป More Photos

These are the first official pictures of Mazda’s new Kazamai crossover concept, due to be unveiled at the Moscow motor show in August.

The Kazamai’s design is a combination of straight and sweeping lines beginning at the bold five-point grille and flowing into the accentuated wheel arches and sleek coupe-like roofline.

The four-wheel-drive Kazamai showcases elements of Mazda’s Nagare design language, like the Furai, Taiki and Hakaze concepts
before it, and demonstrates the potential for a smaller SUV to sit below the CX-7 in Mazda’s lineup.

SUV sales account for around 20 per cent of all new car sales in Russia and the country has surpassed Germany as Europe’s largest car market, so it’s no coincidence that Mazda has chosen to introduce the Kazamai crossover concept in Moscow. Expect full details when the car is launched on 28 August.
