An engineer has crashed James Bond’s Aston Martin DBS into an Italian lake. Fraser Dunn, 29, was delivering the Aston to the set of latest spy thriller “Quantum of Solace” when he lost control and plunged off a damp, twisty road into Lake Garda.

The DBS and its unconscious driver sank 150 feet to the bottom of the lake before Dunn stirred, kicked his way out and swam to the surface.

Speaking from the hospital Dunn said he felt “lucky to be alive”.

"The whole thing was a bit James Bond like - I just kicked out of the car and swam to the surface - my lungs felt as if they were
going to explode and my chest still hurts now.”

"Apart from a few bruises I am fine and I hope to be out of hospital within a day or so. It’s actually very embarrassing and I’d like to try and forget the whole thing."

The accident happened in the early hours of the morning near Torbole, Italy at the edge of the picturesque Lake Garda where part of the new 007 film is being shot.

Dunn has worked at Aston Martin as an engineer for five years. The DBS was totally written off, but four others are said to be available to the filmmakers.
