U.S. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and the Army Chief of Staff, Gen. Raymond Odierno, will attend Gooding & Company’s Pebble Beach collector-car auction on Saturday to support the sale of Jay Leno’s 2012 Fiat 500 Prima Edizione (lot 42) benefiting the Fisher House Foundation.

Secretary Panetta and General Odierno will join Leno and Fisher House Foundation president David Coker and vice president Cynthia Campbell at Gooding’s sale to support the fundraising effort.

“We are extremely honored to welcome Secretary Panetta, General Odierno, Jay Leno and the Fisher House Foundation executives here with us this year in Pebble Beach,” said David Gooding, auction president and founder. “With their special presence at our auction combined with Jay’s personal dedication to our armed forces, we hope that the sale of the Fiat 500 encourages great support and new awareness for the Fisher House Foundation to serve our soldiers and their families.”

Fisher House is a nationally praised, non-profit organization that provides a wide range of services and support to the families of wounded American military personnel. Since founding the organization in 1991, the Fisher family and its organization have served more than 160,000 families, saving them more than $192 million in lodging and transportation costs by providing free lodging at their Fisher Houses located at medical centers. Fisher House Foundation continues the vital support for the nation's active military people, veterans and their families.

Gooding’s Pebble Beach auction will take place on Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Pebble Beach Equestrian Center, located at the corner of Portola Road and Stevenson Drive. Preview days started today and continue through Sunday.
