This coming weekend marks the Porsche Rennsport Reunion IV at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, Ca. Rennsport is a remarkable gathering of vintage and modern Porsche racing cars that brings enthusiasts and fans from all over the world.

The West Coast gathering will be held Oct. 14-16.

The Racer's Group will be participating in extraordinary fashion, bringing two GT cars that claimed victory at the world famous 24 hours of Daytona – the No. 66 from 2003 that took home an overall victory and the 2011 reigning GT champion, No. 67. Both cars will be on display as well as racing in the 911 invitational class.

In 2003, after having claimed a class victory at Le Mans the previous summer, the TRG Famous No. 66 completed a task of mammoth proportions, being driven to an unprecedented overall victory, beating out the much faster prototype class after 24 grueling hours. This Monster/TRG 911 GT3 RS Porsche will once again take the green flag, this time at Laguna Seca, driven by TRG team owner Kevin Buckler.

Buckler was one among four from the original 2003 Daytona 24 driver lineup, which also included fellow American Michael Schrom, alongside German Porsche Drivers Timo Bernhard and Jorg Bergmeister.

"Seeing this Monster Cable Porsche back in its original fashion means so much to me and all of the TRG guys,” Bucklersaid. “We worked so hard that year and came back with a piece of hardware which represents History; an overall victory at such an important race is unheard of in a GT car.

“On top of that, it's really neat to have Noel (Lee) and all of the Monster folks here to see the car race again against so many other memorable cars. I'm looking forward to sharing all of this with my friend and the reigning Daytona 24 champ, Steve Bertheau with his 2011 No. 67."

Alongside Buckler in the No. 66 Monster/TRG 911 GT3 RS, is 2011 Daytona 24 winner, Steve Bertheau, in the No. 67 Sargent & Lundy/TRG 911 GT3 Cup. Bertheau shared driving duties and eventually the top step of the podium this past January with Brendan Gaughan, Wolf Henzler, Andy Lally and Spencer Pumpelly.

Most recently, Bertheau enjoyed a Rolex Series victory at Watkins Glen International with TRG co-driver Spencer Pumpelly. It has been a dream season for Bertheau, who has his racing roots with the Porsche Club of America.
