Porsche has released the first details of the all-new 997 Turbo S, a higher-performance version of the standard Turbo with a twin-turbocharged engine that delivers 530 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of maximum torque.

Despite the boost in power, the new S gets an average of nearly 25 miles per gallon, Porsche said, the same as the 500-horsepower Turbo. Top speed is an electronically limited 195 mph. Lightweight, fade-resistant Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes provide the stopping power.

Exclusive on the Turbo S is a new seven-speed Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (double-clutch gearbox) that delivers power to the Porsche Traction Management all-wheel drive. With launch control, 911 Turbo S accelerates from a standstill to 62 mph in 3.3 seconds and reaches 134 mph in 10.8 seconds.

The interior of Porsche’s flagship comes fully equipped with the latest technology and all the luxury appointments, the automaker said. The 19-inch wheels are inspired by the RS Spyder LMP2 racer.

The Turbo S will be available as a coupe or cabriolet. U.S. pricing was not available, but when the Turbo S arrives in German showrooms in May, it will have a base price of 145,400 Euro (about $200,000) for the coupe and 154,900 Euro (about $212,000) for the cabriolet.
