Participant vehicles will also become glamorous centerpieces on public display at several Concours. Muscle Car 1000 began the minute my grandfather floored his Pontiac GTO and gave me the rush of a lifetime, said Chris Hoskins, the rally’s founder. I wanted to pass along that same experience my friends while helping a greater cause. Along the process, I achieved a priceless experience to share with others and established a nonprofit in 1992 called Hero. The organization provides food and other much needed supplies to children of developing countries.

The Hunger Relief Organization, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity, is part of the global effort to eradicate hunger in the developing world. Roughly 852 million people are chronically or acutely malnourished and 1.1 billion children and adults lack sufficient drinking water.

Half of all proceeds from Muscle Car 1000 will benefit The Hunger Relief Organization (HeRO), a nonprofit that works in developing countries to fight childhood hunger. Seven feeding centers have been established in Honduras and more than $180,000 has been raised since the road rally began in 2005. For more information visit www.herocharity.org.

Up to 50 teams will join the route and experience the ultimate stay-cation on wheels. Producers promise excitement and great times all for a worthy cause.
