Just weeks after announcing a new Dodge Charger Daytona for the 2013 model year, the brand is back with another new 2013 Charger model, this one of particular interest to buyers in snow belt states.

The 2013 Dodge Charger AWD Sport promises to serve up a healthy dose of performance, sure-footed traction and impressive value, with the cost of the package adding just $1,195 to the cost of R/T (and R/T Plus) models and $1,395 to the cost of SXT (and SXT Plus models).

That sets pricing (including $995 destination) at $33,685 for an SXT-based Charger AWD Sport, $35,685 for an SXT Plus-based version, $34,685 for an R/T model and $36,685 for an R/T Plus variant of the all-wheel-drive sedan.

The primary difference is that SXT models feature the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, rated at 300 horsepower in Sport models, while R/T models get the 5.7-liter Hemi V8, good for 370 horsepower. Plus versions of each come with a higher level of standard equipment.

In addition to giving SXT models more horsepower, courtesy of a new sport-tuned dual exhaust and a cold air intake system, the Sport package gives buyers a gloss black crosshair grille and grille surround; 19-inch polished wheels with gloss black pockets and all-season tires; paddle shifters and sport transmission calibration and a body-colored rear spoiler.

While V8 models get cylinder deactivation to boost fuel economy, all versions benefit from an active transfer case and a front-axle disconnect system to further gain mileage when all-wheel drive traction isn’t required.

Look for the 2013 Dodge Charger AWD Sport models to begin arriving at dealerships in the first quarter of next year.
