Cadillac has published pricing on its all-new 2013 ATS sedan, with the base model starting at $33,990, including destination charge. That money buys you the 2.5-liter engine and a six-speed automatic gearbox, expected to deliver fuel economy of up to 30 mpg on the highway.

The mid-level model will get Cadillac’s much-hyped 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, good for some 270 horsepower. Buyers get a choice of manual or automatic transmissions, and Cadillac is positioning this model as the “driver’s car” of the ATS range. Pricing on this version will start at $35,795, including destination charge.

Topping the ATS range will be the 3.6-liter V-6 variant, with an estimated 320 horsepower. Slotting into the luxury role, standard features will include Cadillac’s CUE infotainment system, leather upholstery with an eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat and adaptive start. This trim level will be priced from $42,090, including destination charge.

Don Butler, vice president of marketing for Cadillac, said the ATS “will bring a distinctive presence and compelling value while offering quick, nimble, fun-to-drive dynamics that will... challenge the segment’s status quo.” BMW, we believe that last bit was aimed at you.

Look for full details on package and option pricing to be published closer to the car’s release this summer.
