This week’s Best of the Web is dedicated to the many vintage-vehicle activities of Monterey Classic Car Week, located on or near the Monterey Peninsula in California.

Here are the top events and their official web sites, starting off with the big dog itself:

• The Monterey festivities culminate with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, one of the world’s top-tier collector-car events, which happens Aug.19 on the 18th fairway of the Pebble Beach Golf Course. Check out: Pebble Beach Concours.

• Most of the top-drawer collector cars participating in the Pebble Beach Concours also get on the road during the Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance, which is a free spectator event and loads of fun to watch. It begins Aug. 16 at 7 a.m., starting and finishing at the Pebble Beach Polo Field. Check out: Pebble Beach Tour.

• For vintage-racing fans, the week’s big draw is the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, which this year honors the 50th anniversary of the Shelby Cobra. It happens Aug. 17-19 at Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway. Check out: Motorsports Reunion.

• The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering is a high-caliber collector-car event happening Aug. 17 that costs $400 per ticket, which is slightly offset by the fabulous food offerings. But tickets are limited, and if you don’t already have your ticket in hand, it’s almost certainly too late. Check out: Quail Gathering.

• From Fiat to Ferrari, a host of Italian cars will assembly at Laguna Seca Golf Ranch near Monterey on Aug. 17 for Concorso Italiano. This is also a pricey affair, with basic entry pegged at $150. Check Out: Concorso Italiano.

• A similar event for German cars, Legends of the Autobahn, takes place at the same time at Rancho Canada Golf Club in Carmel Valley, Calif. This one is free. Check out: Legends of the Autobahn.

• For somewhat more-quirky automotive fare, there’s the Little Car Show, featuring micro, mini and “arcane” vehicles, which happens Aug. 15 on Lighthouse Avenue in downtown Pacific Grove, Calif. Check out: Little Car Show.

And let’s not forget the auctions. In consecutive order, they are:

• Bonhams, which brings its classy collector-car auction to the Quail Lodge in Carmel on Aug. 16-17. Check out: Bonhams.

• Mecum Auctions, which holds its Monterey sale of hundreds of collector cars Aug. 16-18 at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel and Spa. Check out: Mecum.

• Russo and Steele, which moves to the Monterey waterfront near Fisherman’s Wharf for its collector-car auction Aug. 16-18. Check out: Russo and Steele.

• RM Auctions, which rules as the highest-dollar auction on the Peninsula with a nosebleed collection of million-dollar-plus offerings, at Portola Hotel & Spa and Monterey Conference Center on Aug. 17-18. Check out: RM.

• Pebble Beach RetroAuto, with all sorts of automobile-related art and memorabilia Aug. 17-18 in the main entrance of the Pebble Beach Concours. Check out: RetroAuto.

• The MidAmerica Vintage Motorcycle Auction and Marketplace, which boasts among its offerings a couple of Steve McQueen bikes, from Aug. 17-19 at Pebble Beach RetroAuto. Check out: MidAmerica.

• Gooding & Company, which rivals RM as Monterey’s richest auction of high-dollar collector cars, on the grounds of the Pebble Beach Concours on Aug. 18-19. Check out: Gooding.
