AUTOS: Auction Results From Palm Beach
Barrett-Jackson's Saturday sale hits some significant high notes and raises more than $1 million for charity.
• A pair of late-model Bentley convertibles rang the bell for the South Florida cruiser crowd. A beautiful, black 2007 Continental GTC convertible with extra low mileage sold for $129,800, while a creamy Azure ragtop hit $106,700.
• Three spectacular Oldsmobile 442 convertibles from the Thornton family of muscle-car experts in Quakertown, Penna., did fairly well on the block, selling for $128,700; $110,000; and $100,100.

• Another rare, exotic late-model sports car, a 2008 Rossion Q1 powered by a 450-horsepower twin-turbo Cosworth V6 mounted behind the seats, sold for just $79,200 despite auction vice-president Gary Bennett telling the crowd what a great drive he had in it earlier.
• Linda Vaughn’s 1979 Hurst/Oldsmobile was purchased by Craig Jackson on the block for $45,100.
Some of Saturday’s best bargains:

• A cool custom 1957 Ford business custom coupe with a Ford Boss 429 V8, for $51,700.
• A 1947 Cadillac convertible, beautifully restored and glistening in black paint and stainless-steel trim, for $68,000.
• One of the oldest cars in the auction, a 1921 Ford Model T depot hack, sold for just $15,400.
