In this second episode of the SPEED program, pro drivers Justin Bell and Townsend Bell tackle one of Nevada’s most exciting roads.

The second installment of SPEED’s new enthusiast show Shut Up And Drive features one of the fastest production cars on the planet – the Lexus LFA. Premiering Saturday, June 2 at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT, the show takes this exotic machine on one of America’s toughest stretches of road, loop route Nevada 169, through the Valley of Fire.

The show is a simple, delicious concept for any high-performance driving nut. Take your favorite stretch of road, have the local authorities close it down, and then see if a high-performance car of your choice can handle the corners in anger.

But that’s not all, Shut Up And Drive hands the keys over to two professional drivers – sports car racer and SPEED analyst Justin Bell and Indy Car Series driver Townsend Bell (no relation), to see who can tackle one of America’s most treacherous roads in the quickest amount of time.

“Getting a chance at the LFA was enough to put a smile on our faces,” Justin Bell said. “The location was fantastic. The on-screen chemistry between Townsend and I really stepped up in this episode too. I thought it was pretty good in the first show, but really good in this one.

“It’s (the LFA) a bit like riding a jet around your living room. The road was very slippery because it was a national park, and there was a gob of horsepower, so it was truly a handful. We just had a great time. In a way it’s a bit insane, going sideways in between all of these huge red rocks, but it was amazing.”

This episode also focuses on Lexus’ new GS Sports Sedan, which opened the series by challenging Oregon’s famous Rowena Loops.
